Dr. Wind’s approach to Board leadership is shaped not only by her time on the Board, but by decades of service as a mental health professional and an active community volunteer. Her work has always centered on supporting students, strengthening families, and building a more connected, informed school community.

Over 25 Years in Mental Health

Dr. Wind brings deep expertise as a practicing mental health professional, with experience in schools, private practice, and university settings—giving her valuable insight into the emotional and developmental needs of students.

Longstanding Commitment to SMF Schools

Her service includes years on the SMF Facilities Planning Committee, leadership in parent-teacher organizations, and extensive volunteer work through Echo Hills, Woodland, Lakeview, and Kimpton. She’s helped lead scholarship efforts, teacher mini-grants, and countless school events.

Support for Equity and Inclusion

As a past member of the City of Stow’s Commission on Inclusion and a current member of its Mental Health Awareness Committee, Dr. Wind brings a deep commitment to inclusive, supportive schools for all students.

Leadership in Local Nonprofits

Dr. Wind helped found and serve on the executive board of SMF N.I.C.E., a locally focused charity, and also served on the board of SMF IGNITE, which connects families and educators of gifted students.

Civic Involvement

In addition to her educational service, she has served as a Summit County Precinct Committeeperson and on the executive board of a local community club—always with a focus on engaging families and building stronger schools.
