Public education is facing real challenges—underfunding, instability, and efforts that undermine its mission. In moments like these, our community needs experienced, consistent leadership. Dr. Wind brings a proven track record of thoughtful decision-making, collaboration, and a deep commitment to keeping our schools strong, inclusive, and accountable.
Proven Leadership and Governance
Leadership From the Start
Took on the role of Board Vice President during her first year and now serves as Board President. Under her leadership, the Board has become more focused, collaborative, and aligned around shared goals for students and staff.
Invested in Effective Governance
Pursued ongoing professional development in Board leadership and organizational change to ensure the District is governed with integrity and purpose.
Responsible Hiring
Played a central role in hiring a Treasurer committed to transparency and fiscal health, as well as securing a Superintendent who brings the professional leadership our students and staff deserve.
Improved Oversight and Legal Support
Led the process to select new legal counsel better suited to represent the District’s interests and support effective, ethical governance.
Finance Committee Creation
Encouraged the formation of a Finance Committee to take a closer look at spending and develop smarter, more sustainable budget strategies.
Improved District Rating
Under Dr. Wind’s leadership, the District improved its rating to 4.5 stars, reflecting significant progress in academic performance and student well-being
Protecting and Strengthening Public Education
Public Education Is Under Threat
There are growing efforts to weaken and dismantle public education. Dr. Wind has worked to protect what matters most: strong support for students, responsible use of public funds, and thoughtful long-term planning that keeps our schools on solid ground.
A Shift Toward Fiscal Responsibility
Backed necessary changes to stop unsustainable spending patterns and set the District on a more responsible path.
Expanded Mental Health Support
Helped secure funding for additional mental health resources—including a provider with an addiction prevention focus—and supported expansion of the District Wellness Committee.
Fostering Inclusivity and Community Engagement
Student Voice at the Table
Developed a Student Representative role on the Board to ensure students have a say in decisions that directly affect them.
Unanimous Pride Resolution
Collaborated across perspectives to craft and pass a 5–0 resolution affirming that LGBTQ+ students, staff, and families are welcome and supported in our schools.
Open and Accessible
Committed to listening—holding regular office hours and staying engaged with families, staff, and students through a visible presence at school events.
Dr. Wind will continue and protect vital progress.
